Give us some money (please). We'll spend it wisely, we promise.
As forward-thinking, creative and inclusive organisation, there’s loads of great benefits of working at Melbourne Fringe. We believe that great work is made by people who enjoy what they do. We have a social culture (think: shared lunches, Friday drinks, good vibes) and employees get opportunities to learn and grow, enjoy themselves (and enjoy free tickets along the way!).
Here are some of the benefits of working at Melbourne Fringe:
We aim to be a force for positivity in the world, working to create a more creative, healthy, cohesive society. We have created a fast paced, ambitious work culture that values continual improvement and making seemingly impossible things happen on limited resources in a workplace characterised by big-picture thinking, optimism and playfulness.
Want to join us?
Melbourne Fringe has a deep commitment to cultural equity, and we strongly encourage applications from people who identify as First Nations, Deaf & Disabled, people of colour, transgender and gender-diverse, and women. We work hard to embed equity throughout our organisation, and we strive to create safe and flexible working environments for our team.
We consider reasonable adjustments for qualified applicants with disability. If you have any questions about the accessibility of Melbourne Fringe please get in touch with on (03) 9660 9600 or email louise@melbournefringe.com.au
We’re once again on the hunt for some amazing volunteers to help put a little finesse on our Festival, whether it’s getting punters’ bums on the right seat, or directing them towards the nearest QR code (you’ve gotta press and hold, Graham!). We’ve got positions including: All-Rounders, Front of House Attendants, Fringe Greeters, and Access Champions. Whatever special flair you bring, we want it as part of the Fringe Festival team.
What’s involved?
As a Melbourne Fringe volunteer, you’ll typically contribute 15 – 25 hours of time across the Festival. Most volunteers help across five shifts of three – four hours each, but many put their hand up for more. To assist with rostering, you’ll need to be available across at least five days in October. The festival will run from October 1 – 20. There will be two briefing sessions for volunteers to choose from, on the 16th or the 17th of September.
What’s In It For Me?
Apart from getting to meet other absolute legends and be part of making great art happen? Volunteering will give you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic arts environment, and provide an exciting place to meet new people and make new memories. Not to mention how incredible it is to be involved in such a vibrant and extraordinary part of Melbourne!
As a volunteer, you will also receive a Melbourne Fringe t-shirt, tickets to see shows for free, exclusive discounts and deals, an invitation to our VIP volunteers party, and a certificate of completion at the end of the Festival.
