Ivanhoe Library & Cultural Hub - Yarra-me Djila Theatrette

This is an informal theatrette space at the Ivanhoe Library & Cultural Hub in the heart of Ivanhoe, only 10kms from the CBD. This venue is owned by Banyule City Council, managed by our library partners, Yarra Plenty Regional Libraries, and is available for hire. The venue is 350m walk from Ivanhoe Train Station (Hurstbridge Line).

The Venue comes with no staff as part of the hire. While Library staff will be happy to direct ticket holders to the venue, they will NOT act as your Front of House staff under any circumstances. If you wish to hire the venue outside of regular Library Hours, additional staff will need to be paid for to ensure building and fire security only.

We describe this as an informal space, because it has a narrow performing space at "ground level", no backstage or side wings. The seats are bench style seating, front two rows have no "backs". However, it is equipped with a state-of-the-art laser projector, and a 250in (diagonal measurement) drop-down projection screen; inbuilt A/V and PA system; operable lights (simple iPad controls).

The benefits of this space are that it has amazing equipment that has been programmed to be DIY, however, if your event requires tech support staff, this can also be arranged at additional cost.
