Nu-Disco!

A tribute to the revelation, merriment and shadows selves that emerge in the depths of da klub...

  • Created and Performed by: Ellen Marning

  • In Collaboration with: Bronte Charlotte and Laura McAloney

  • : Robert Downie

This is a dream.
A late-night nightmare.
A descent into sweaty bliss.
It’s the euphoric ramblings of a drunken stranger.
Harrowing epiphanies in a bathroom stall.
A cry for the good life.
Nu-Disco!

Nu-Disco! is the Melbourne club you’ve never heard of. It’s sweaty, dark and there’s a mysterious smell trapped in the walls. Beyond the grit and the grime, there is the revelry of people dancing, romances blossoming and ideas taking shape. An episodic, surreal & Lynchian odyssey. Club Silencio meets Berghain.

Written and performed by Ellen Marning, directed by Laura McAloney, dramaturgy by Bronte Charlotte and featuring the musical stylings of award-winning audio artist Robert Downie, the Australian premiere of this high-octane one-woman vaudevillian electro dance smash is not to be missed.
