A Brutally Honest Fairy Tale

The hilarious, satirical story of a fairy tale turned on its head.

  • Created and Performed by: Cristina Wells

A farcical comedy with strong elements of music and cabaret, this show is a loving feminist satire of some of the more ridiculous elements of beloved fairy tales.

With Cinderella dead, Prince Charming is forced to marry a stepsister whose foot just will not fit the glass slipper. Hampered by his far more intelligent servant and a backing orchestra with no sense of timing, Charming is on a journey to learn the ugly truth that there might be more to true love than shoe size.

Based on the fairy tales of Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, this comedy answers some of fairy tales most pressing questions: What happens to stepsisters after happy endings? And how do backing orchestras always know when a main character is about to sing?
Full of live music, physical comedy, and a radical reconsideration of gender roles it is a Brutally Honest Fairy Tale.
