Years Years Bears

A dark comedy about cults, community and true crime podcasts.

One blonde woman with smeared lipstick, sunglasses, a scarf and a fur coat looks shocked, while another blonde woman also in sunglasses and a scar, and a long red coat stands behind her menacingly. The woman in the red coat has her her left hand wrapped around the woman in front of her, and her right hand smearing the woman in front of hers lipstick in a way that suggests she had her hand over her mouth.

Did you see?
Did your cousin know her?
Did you listen to the podcast?
Was it funny?

In a quiet community hall during a support group for ex-cult members, a brutal murder takes place.
Years later a true crime podcast delves into what caused the group to turn against each other. Witness live re-enactments of the meetings from never-before-heard transcripts, which eventually lead up to the event commonly referred to as ‘The Corner Hall Witch Trial’ – complete with Squarespace ads, of course.

But as the harrowing story begins, the victim wants to re-write her story.
