Musical Director: Suzanne Andrews
The Big Sing Your Heart Out is an experience where everyone who comes along will join in the raucous, playful, heartfelt singing. No experience or skill required. The words are on a big screen, the legend Suzanne Andrews is playing the piano and the regular weekly Sing Your Heart Out Crew are in the room, singing big and bringing the good vibes.Join us as we belt out favourites from across the generations, have a laugh and take the opportunity to sing with our hearts on our sleeves. Every voice is welcome, from first time singers to professionals. What will we sing? Songs with a great hook that you’ve sung at the top of your voice in the shower or on a road trip with a friend. The kind of songs that make you want to move, or express your ‘teenage angst’, or ballads that remind you of what it is like to fall in love, or out of love... or songs that make you feel good about the world.I love creating experiences where people get to have fun and feel connected to each other. Last year I started a weekly ‘sing-a-long’ group called Sing Your Heart Out. It’s been running all year and is a blast. The Big Sing Your Heart Out takes this weekly singing and shares the magic! I’ve got years of experience leading groups (as a teacher, facilitator and performer), I’ve worked across the Asia Pacific as a dance theatre performer, studied the Alexander Technique and voice, and am a qualified Alexander Technique teacher. I have performed for companies big and small across Australia, been the recipient of a Green Room Award (Best ensemble – KAGE physical theatre) and won an award for my last show in the Melbourne Fringe Festival (Best Live Art). With the Big Sing Your Heart Out I’m excited to take my mix of experienced performer, confident group facilitator and curious musician to lead you to sing your heart out and rediscover the joy of singing in a group.
