Quirky Best Friend

Your favourite romantic comedy... starring the main character's best friend.

  • Written and Performed by: Nicole Gulasekharam

  • Directed by: Harry Lloyd

Quirky Best Friend is a 50-minute, one-woman show, celebrating the funny, sarcastic, straight-shooting ride-or-dies, who’ve been led to believe they belong on the sidelines as supporting characters.

This sassy sidekick, who is clearly only here for the comedic relief, and maybe a sprinkle of exposition, decides it's time to start taking control of her own life, instead of just being here to serve her genetically-blessed best friend.

It's a deep dive into what it means to have “main character energy”, and the power of female friendship. It looks at how embracing your quirks can help turn self-sabotage into self-discovery, and insecurities into assets. It’s about growing as a person, alongside your people.
