Black Girl Rising is a powerful one woman show about racism and mental health. Flipping the script to assert her own normativity, Linnea engages the audience to embrace the uncomfortable. Combining three performance styles in storytelling, stand-up comedy, and spoken word poetry, the show explodes stereotypes with laughs, tears and everything in between. She will rise above the bullshit, but not quietly and conveniently as she is told. She will disrupt, she will lash out and she will rise on her own terms.
With plenty of audience engagement and no white privilege to hide behind if you don’t see this show yourself, you’ll definitely hear about it.
