About Nandita
Nandita Chakraborty is a celebrated neurodivergent screenwriter and author, recognized for her impactful novellas and storytelling. Dubbed the "Accidental Writer," her acclaimed works, 'Meera Rising' and 'Rosemary’s Retribution', emerged from her therapy rehabilitation in 2016-17, after surviving a 40-metre rock climbing accident. Her writing, blending realism with fantasy, delves into themes of love, identity, sexuality, disability, and the immigrant experience. Her novellas have been recognized as finalists at the International Book Festival 2018 and the American Book Festival.Nandita is the winner of Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence in Arts 2023, and her short-film 'Brush Strokes' was a semi-finalist at the New York International Screenplay Awards and Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards.Nandita's latest exhibition, Two Worlds Collide, is inspired by her memoir 'Dirty Little Secrets', which was a top ten choice at Delhi Wire in 2022. I am very proud of my 'Two Worlds Collide' exhibition. I have assembled a team of incredibly talented artists including: Samantha Lord : A lauded indigenous artist from the Budjiti tribe, above the border of NSW, practicing Visual Arts & Design for over 30 years.Akshay Gandhi: A renowned theatre artist and facilitator, known for his extensive training and performances worldwide, and currently focused on creating a conservatory for marginalized artists.Rohit Bhasi : A Bengaluru-based illustrator and mural artist, celebrated for his work interpreting myths and cultures, including illustrating the cover for her memoir, Dirty Little Secrets.Laura Bailey : An emerging multi-disciplinary artist whose work at the Victorian College of the Arts explores memory and identity through innovative silhouette sculptures.Shipra Anand : A digital user experience researcher and artist specializing in contemporary and realistic art, and has entered the Archibald Contest 2024 with a portrait of Nandita.
