For the debut unveiling of the COOKED public BBQ, we are Seasoning the Grill with a saucy line-up of DJs, drag, yarns, installation, projection, dance, smoke, and storytelling.

A night-long cook-up party led by First Nation’s artists, performers, and cooks! A menu of acts curated by Deadly Fringe’s Program Coordinator, Peta Duncan, featuring BBQ-flavoured performance from high heat drag star Cerulean, camp clown chaos from Trans Wiradjuri babe, Mora Money, for a serving of soft and sensual. Arrernte gem Stone Motherless Cold, and off-the-counter cabaret from The FABorginal 2Joocee!!!

Soothing the sizzle, Yara Music, will bring a unique blend of bread-soft melodies and compelling storytelling.

Immaculate feeds, care of Torres Strait-owned and operated leaders Mabu Mabu, grilling some exceptional Indigenous ingredients—croc tongue, anyone?! On the other grills, food sculpture collective Playte will serve from a hanging hāngī.

Grounding the grill, Alchemy Orange, a Yorta Yorta organic architect, will install plants and grasses with an unbroken connection to country; the perfect companion for Tahlia Palmer's moving projection work.

Despite the brimming plate, nothing will be lost as Kimmie Lovegrove will be roaming with live crosses between acts, snacks, and chats all night long.

At this BBQ, there will be no need to yank the aux —DJs Nicholas Currie and TIAKI will keep things well-seasoned with dance, island, soul, and experimental offerings.

Free tickets secure some snacks on entry, live music, and performances plated for a BBQ stage. Drinks and dinner are available for purchase.

This event occurs within the COOKED public BBQ space designed by Mikhail Savin Rodrick Projects and Long Prawn, with BBQ designed and built by Mike Hewson.

COOKED has been commissioned with Principal Partner support from the Naomi Milgrom Foundation. This project received Cash to Create through the Fringe Fund.
