The human body gives us so much to talk about.

Join professional choreographers speaking alongside dance students as they share stories, uncover history, and discuss the future of movement, dance and the body. Get a glimpse into their upcoming works in the Guild and Union Theatres.

Panel 1: Explore the intersection of dance and the human body in a discussion featuring choreographers Caroline Meaden (Molly) and Alistair Macindoe (PIECES 2024). As creators of groundbreaking new dance works, these artists offer a unique perspective on the power of the body as a conduit for storytelling. Hosted by VCA Dance researcher and performer Dr. Phoebe Robinson.

Panel 2: Discover how choreographers evolve their practice, taking inspiration from dance archives, and envisioning new futures for the artform. Arabella Frahn-Starkie (Pictures & Ghosts) is joined by dance and theatre students from the VCA to share insights into the creative process of developing rich, exciting works from archival material.

This event is a part of 'Guild Fringe (Dance Edit)' - a festival that celebrates dances and movement held in and around Guild Theatre, Arts & Cultural Building, University of Melbourne Parkville.
