About Rollercoaster Theatre Inc.
Established in 2007, Rollercoaster Theatre, Australia’s largest professional ensemble of trained actors with intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to offer a safe and inclusive space that champions authentic, autonomous representation, while elevating the profile of Neurodivergent performers and actors with mixed abilities. At the heart of our approach is a commitment to disability-led practices, supporting the individual artistic agency of each actor. We focus on showcasing the unique perspectives of the ensemble and empower them to tell their own stories through theatre, film and performance art practices. We strive for artistic excellence, constantly pushing the boundaries of form, experimentation, and new art mediums. We deliver a variety of programs and services, including theatrical productions, film projects, and workshops, presented across established theatre venues, corporate functions, community events, educational forums, and festivals. Our work celebrates diverse perspectives, amplifies marginalised voices and contributes to a richer, more inclusive arts landscape.
