‘Do you, Love?’ is an exploration into how and why people love to survive in this confusing and often harsh and immoral global society.

Sitting atop a green hill overlooking the Sydney Harbour with its beauty and historical gore, A queer, working-class sometimes Lady from a quiet regional town watched as people gleefully eat their ice-creams and bathe in the sun. They found themselves in a paradoxical mindset: How did I get here? Are the people attached to their devices aware of the news and current global happenings? The seeming collapse of humanity? The atrocities? Are everyday folks aware of their luck and fortune? What the hell are we here for?

Taking to the streets of Warrane (Syd) and Naarm (Melb), Monique asked strangers to share their ‘raison d’etre’ with one simple question: “Why do you think you exist?”

Fruiting from this experiment is a collection of lived perspectives told through song - funny, lovely, raw, tense, hopeful and connected. A stirring musical quest to uncover why we think we're here.

After all, ‘What the world needs now, is love. Sweet love.’
