Patricia and Sean plot their escape from a nursing home. Patrick and Colette meet in a sterile hotel room with very different expectations. In these short plays, two ordinary interactions are not as they first seem.

Following a sold-out run of Sam Steiner's 'Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons' earlier in the year, Short Straw Theatre Company returns to present 'Salad Day' by Deirdre Kinahan and 'Love in a Glass' Jar by Nancy Harris.

About Short Straw Theatre Company

Short Straw Theatre Company is a Naarm/Melbourne-based theatre company committed to staging current, urgent and engaging plays. We started Short Straw whilst collaborating on student theatre at the University of Melbourne after realising our shared love of contemporary established works underrepresented on local stages.

The collective experience of live theatre bonds communities, starts conversation, and inspires action. Short Straw aims to engage in storytelling that offers opportunity for reflection upon the self and the space we occupy in an intensifying world. It is a gift to connect and to share in a creative space, and we are excited to be contributing to the post-pandemic resurgence of Melbourne’s vibrant theatre scene.
