About Circus Oz

Circus Oz is the longest running Contemporary Circus company in Australia. It was founded in 1978, blending traditional circus with elements of rock'n'roll, popular theatre, comedy and satire. The resulting shows are funny, irreverent and spectacular celebrations of a diverse bunch of rowdy, multi-skilled characters.
The principles which distinguished and guided Circus Oz from the outset are still central to our performances and Company today: collective ownership and creation, irreverence, team-work, equity all round (and in particular gender equity), and a commitment to savouring and celebrating a uniquely contemporary Australian humour and eclecticism.
