Arts Centre Melbourne in association with Melbourne Fringe present
This year our ground-breaking partnership with Arts Centre Melbourne is all about innovation, with the commissioned artists creating and adapting work in a way we’ve never seen before.
During a two-week creative residency in their homes, mid-pandemic, the artists developed ideas for a new work for the festival. They shared their creative explorations with audiences online, with the intention of performing them live this November. And we all know what happened next…
While live works in 2020 just weren’t meant to be, these brilliant artists continued to be adaptable, resilient and full of ingenuity in the face of an ever-changing landscape of uncertainty and public health restrictions. The result is Take Over! 2020 – an imaginative collection of final online works as well as advanced works-in-progress.
Spanning dance, theatre, spoken word, music, live art and installation, Take Over! 2020 is packed-full of passion, vulnerability and fresh perspectives on the world we live in, delivered by some of the country’s most exciting artists.Book tickets
