Established 1989 in a beautiful heritage building at the heart of Melbourne's Chinatown, the Museum of Chinese Australian History or 'Chinese Museum's' five floors showcase the heritage and culture of Australia's Chinese community. The Museum's mission is to preserve and present Chinese culture and Australian history, to recognise and celebrate the identity of Chinese Australian people. Suitable for music/dance/theatre/visual arts and experimental work. The Bendigo Bank Community Gallery is one of 3 venues available at the Chinese Museum during Fringe Festival. - 65 seat capacity - exhibition hanging system - temporary walls- integrated audio/visual system, including 1 x overhead projector, 2 x overhead speakers, 4 x wireless microphones (either handheld, lapel or head), basic lighting with DMX mixer - 5 x 2 metres stage available Trestle tables, seating and hospitality facilities, including kitchenette, glasses etc, available on request. Unless otherwise stated, A/V facilities and technicians are to be provided by the hirer.This space has been used effectively in the past for performance-based events and exhibitions.
