We know you know this, but we’re going to say it anyway! In-venue events will not take place within metro Melbourne during the 2021 Melbourne Fringe Festival, due to the Victorian Government’s current COVID-19 restrictions.
For your safety and the safety of our artists it’s very important you follow health guidelines when attending any event outside your home, including guided audio walks and socially-distanced events in outdoor space. Please refer to any requirements and restrictions – which could include vaccination status, capacities or locality – on the event listing page before booking a ticket.
We have put together a detailed COVID Safe Event Plan to ensure the safety of audiences, artists and staff.
The current Victorian Government’s COVID-19 Roadmap indicates that in-person events will be unable to proceed during the festival dates this year, but should anything change, we will post updates here. If you have any questions get in touch on (03) 9660 9600 or email@example.com.
Do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been a close contact of a confirmed case in the past 14 days. If you begin to feel unwell while at an event, contact an event staff member immediately.
Upon arrival you will be asked to sign into your venue using the handy Victorian Government QR code system to assist with potential future contact tracing. Sometimes you’ll need to check-in a few times in the one building, so please do this vigilantly. This data will only be used by the health authorities to help with an outbreak of COVID-19. If there’s no outbreak at a venue you’ve been to, the government will delete check-in details after 28 days. Please see the Service Victoria website for more information.
Please adhere to any physical distancing guidelines that may be present at the event and stay 1.5m away from other Fringe peeps where possible. But keep them close to you heart, proverbially.
Wash your hands after touching surfaces and apply hand sanitiser liberally.
Wear a Mask
Don’t be that person! If it’s a requirement at the venue, please wear a mask over your nose and mouth the whole time you are on the premises unless you have a legal reason for not doing so. Mask guidelines change regularly, so please stay up to date with current guidelines.
Stay Up to Date
Stay informed! Don’t get your health updates from your dodgy cousin on Facebook, use the Victorian Government website for the latest information on COVID-19. www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au.
If an event is cancelled, rescheduled or has a capacity change due to COVID-19, our Ticketing team will be in touch with ticketholders directly to discuss refunds and exchanges. If you are unable to attend an event due to illness, quarantine, border closures or other fun COVID things, contact our lovely aforementioned ticketing team on firstname.lastname@example.org or (03) 9660 9666 and they’ll run you through your options. You can view our full refunds and exchange policy here.
