Set in both 1856 and 2020, we find the artists Paul Cezanne and Marie Fiquet coming into the height of their creative powers while learning about their true feelings for each other.
A young Cezanne is quickly corrupted by the new forms of entertainment the world has to offer, while still being plagued by the influence of doubt that informed his work throughout his previous life.
Being consistently forced to reevaluate his relationship with art, he is left grasping at anything that will connect him to reality.
His future wife Marie, now known as Mary has her reckoning. No longer the uncelebrated artist - she is given the chance to redefine her place in history.
