Once upon a time, she walked the length of Aotearoa, New Zealand. To process grief, to know alone, to sing, to be.

Join ‘seemingly unstoppable force of nature’ Milly Moon in an intimate performance of story and song, inspirited by a solo journey on Te Araroa. This unique re-telling of 5 months walking the ‘world’s toughest through-hike’ celebrates the power of the voice, the body, and being shit scared but doing it anyway.

A woman leaves abuse to seek answers in solitude, making her way 3000 kilometers down the length of her homeland on foot. The rhythm of her step sets pace for songs and story, now shared on the international platform of the Fringe Festival.

Following debut performances at New Zealand and Edinburgh Fringe, 'Walking Songs' sees Milly Moon return to her second home, Melbourne, and to her roots in poetry, prose, and a veneration for unadorned song.

"Milly Moon's 'Walking Songs' is masterfully delivered, heartfelt storytelling at it purest. Punctuated with laughter, tears and impassioned songs about love and loss, weaving together a personal story about the long journey to finding her way home again. I loved it!" - Vanessa Stacey Director of NZ Fringe Festival

“A seemingly unstoppable force of nature [Milly Moon’s] voice dips and rises into eccentric lows and chilling falsettos... It’s a show-stopping performance” – Bored In Pittsburgh

“Milly Moon cuts through with velvety vocals that drip like honey on the soul” – Happy Mag
