About Comedian's Guide to True Crime

Ro Campbell, best known for his role in the Emmy award-winning film Captain Johnno (1988), had a brief child acting career before vowing to avoid the stage after a high school mishap. His varied early life included working as a cook at a resort in Uluru, traveling India on a Royal Enfield motorbike, teaching English in Nepal, and working as a stagehand/roadie for major acts like the Rolling Stones and AC/DC.

In 2004, while working at the Edinburgh Fringe, Ro was inspired by Australian comedy legend Jimeoin to try stand-up. He soon became a staple on the international comedy circuit, performing in over 40 countries. Notably, he was named Scottish Comedian of the Year in 2010, despite being Australian.

Ro has toured extensively, opening for Tom Stade and performing at prestigious venues like Leicester Square Theatre and The Lowry. He's written for British TV and radio, featured on BBC Radio, and performed at major comedy festivals worldwide, including the Edinburgh Fringe, Glasgow International Comedy Festival, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

From 2013 to 2015, he co-produced the 5-star hit show Comedian Rap Battle at the Edinburgh Fringe. Ro's comedy blends his worldly experiences into pure hilarity, earning him rave reviews: "Great Stand Up and exceptional storyteller" – The Skinny; "His laugh-per-minute ratio is one of the highest" – NZ Theatre Review.
