Every great adventure playground has a swing. Melbourne's is eight metres tall.

Chase that giddy rush of wind in your hair as you hop aboard this playful interruption of the everyday. Kids rule here, buckling you in and setting you soaring – and from way up there, you’ll see the city from a whole new perspective.

Come for a swing or come to play spectator of this seriously playful public art event that will make you feel like a third grader again.

The sessions on Friday 6th October between 12pm-2pm are designed for wheelchair users. Please contact boxoffice@melbournefringr.com.au if you would like to reserve a wheelchair accessible swing session at this time. These sessions are designed for manual or electric wheelchairs for those who would love a swing!

Swing is commissioned with Principal Partner support from the Naomi Milgrom Foundation. Swing is supported through the Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund – a $200 million partnership of the Victorian Government and the City of Melbourne.

  • Event Accessibility: Deaf or Hard of Hearing Rating: Partially Accessible, English no barrier

Tickets were previously available for pre-booking to reserve a time, however these tickets have now been exhausted, so we invite you to turn up at your leisure and wait for a swing. Pre-booked ticket holders will be prioritised, but we have kept numbers low to ensure 

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Some safety considerations:

  • Swing is rated to hold up to 140kg
  • Riders should be at least 128cm and 11 years or older

For health and safety, riders should not:

  • Have a history of heart conditions or abnormal blood pressure
  • Have injury to their back, neck or other area that might be aggravated
  • Have a healing broken bone, or be wearing a cast or sling
  • Had recent surgery or other conditions that may be aggravated
  • Be pregnant
  • Suffer from vertigo, motion sickness or dizziness
