Australia’s favourite kooky Japanese ventriloquist is back with a brand-new show. From first dates to funerals, from moving house to honeymoons, Showko and her team of quirky puppets turn the spotlight on those special occasions that are the comedy of life. There’s even a sitcom starring an inflatable doll.
Totally original, off-beat and hilarious, this is unlike any other show at the Fringe. Think: Nina Conti meets Hello Kitty via Mighty Boosh.
A former radio broadcaster and in-flight entertainment announcer, Showko began her performance career working at a police station teaching traffic safety using a puppet. Fast-forward to the present day where she is a regular on the Melbourne comedy circuit performing alongside comedy legends such as Dave Hughes, Cal Wilson, Judith Lucy, Denise Scott, Julia Zemiro, Dave O’Neil, and Libbi Gorr.
As heard on ABC radio. As seen on Australia’s Got Talent.
