Dance with the anomalous. Bathe in ambient, experimental, and deeper body grooves.
Come celebrate Inspired by Breathing's movement and sound event, all beings welcome.

Groove together with a gently guided 'free dance' gathering, before simmering down to enjoy live ambient/experimental sound and dance performances featuring local Naarm artists including Jambe (Clinton Schramm), Miles Lee, Blockchain (Robbie Belchamber and Grace Robinson), Jareen Wee and Nikki Tarling.

Inviting participants to express and connect with themselves and their community in a warmly lit, cozy space, with warm beverages and refreshments. There will be something for everyone - whether you want to let loose, or simply rest, listen and observe.

Aiming to stimulate fresh states of being through shared cathartic movement and deep listening, join us for an expansive yet intimate night of music and dance.

About Inspired by Breathing

Inspired by Breathing aims to share a fresh take on ambient and downtempo music. Putting the spotlight on local artists, their material encourages listeners to breathe, be consciously attentive and participate in the musical experience.

  • Duration: 3 hours

  • Event Accessibility: Blind or Low Vision Rating: Partially Accessible, Deaf or Hard of Hearing Rating: Partially Accessible, English no barrier

  • Age suitability: PG

  • Event warnings: Sustained Loud Noises, High Level Of Audience Participation.

This is a 3 hour event. We encourage you to stay for the entire time, but you may choose to just attend 1 or 2 sections of the event. If you don't want to participate in the free-dance class, you can still come for the performances and vice versa. Please refer to the set times and arrive promptly. There will be limited chair and bench seating, with more floor seating available on rugs and cushions. We recommend you wear comfortable clothing that you can move in.
