  • Performed by: Yumi Umiumare and Jacqui Stockdale

Come and dance and make masks and objects as we create playful rituals to summon Kooks and Spooks through Butoh!

Step inside an imaginative world and experience the Japanese artform of Butoh. Get ready to move, shake and make funny shapes with your body, as we jump headfirst into a world of imaginative spirits.

Renowned performance makers Yumi Umiumare and visual artist Jacqui Stockdale will guide this workshop. Suitable for children 3 -12 years but all are welcome.
Let’s find Kooks and Spooks and dance together with them!

“It was incredible! Very fun & interesting.” Parent feedback. Peek-a-Butoh Workshop, Abbotsford Convent, April 2023.
