Choreographer Phillip Adams, recipient of the 2018 Australia Council Award for dance, invites you to experience a fantastical vision of the south pacific embodied through the 25 young dancers of Yellow Wheel. ‘Paradise’ is a visual expression of pageantry, lively choreography and whimsical ceremony. During this performance the dancers paint a colourful portrait of themselves across a giant canvas inspired by south pacific masking styles, photography, other worldly images and materials. This performance is a collaboration en masse creating impressions of an imagined paradise performed to classical music by Richard Strauss. Inspired by childhood memories ‘Paradise’ is suitable for ages 4 and up.
"As with all BalletLab works, it’s unlike anything you’ve seen before" Sarah W. The Plus Ones, on 'EVER' - October 2017.
