Taking the passing of one year of time as inspiration, ONLY A YEAR is a delightful sensory theatre work for 0-12 month olds and their carers which looks at the first year of life as both the longest AND shortest time imaginable. Babies are taken on a journey through the senses, exploring the seasonal changes of a year, transforming the familiar aspects of a baby’s world into things both new and exciting. Carers experience the work as both facilitators of their baby's experience and as an opportunity to reflect on the joyous and challenging quagmire of the first year of an infant's life. ONLY A YEAR is a truly unforgettable experience for babies and parents and a rare opportunity for creative reflection and connection on parenthood.
Performance runs for 35 minutes with playtime afterward for babies not yet ready for their nap.
Winner of the 2017 Melbourne Fringe Best Kids Event and nominated for a 2017 Green Room Award for Oustanding Theatre for Young Audiences .

‘I recently took my 5 month old daughter to see Only a Year as part of the Fringe Festival and was blown away. It was so thoughtfully put together and so beautifully and carefully performed with Nick Barlow really reading each little audience members reaction and playing to it perfectly. I absolutely loved it and my daughter did too! Thank you so much!’ - Audience Member, Melbourne Fringe 2017
