Modals of Lost Opportunity is a new cross-disciplinary work by InPlay Projects. With movement & choreography at its base, it draws from projection technologies as well as written and spoken prose to investigate the lived experience(s) of its queer-led cast.

Modals of Lost Opportunity uses the principles of Boolean Algebra (the logic system behind binary code) to explore themes of lost potential. Modal verbs, ifs, ands, buts, maybes, shoulds, woulds and coulds will act as the scaffolding, colliding until they become blurred and indistinguishable, reflected through live movement and visual projections. In a Groundhog Day like spectacle, InPlay will inhabit the spaces between live performance and pre shot recordings, improvised and pre-written prose, with through lines of choreography and movement all underpinned by Boolean Logic.
