Inside Joke: A Solo Show From Hong Kong With Love is a collation of queer ruminations during a 14-day self-isolation sandwiched (yes, like the food) by political unrest in Hong Kong.
Inside Joke was originally performed at the NuWorks 2020 Festival by Pan Asian Repertory NYC. It is also the third installment in a series of semi-autobiographical stories. Preceding this solo show, Miko produced, wrote and starred in an arthouse short film set in Hong Kong’s relic industrial buildings in Kwun Tong called ’Make Up Your Mind Prod. By Bitter Melanin.’ The film premiered at the Hong Kong Arthouse Film Festival 2019, Cinema Q (Shanghai) and Queer International Film Festival. The satirical comedy that began this series, Self-Care, written by Miko and shot (multi-cam) by Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation.
