Fringe Furniture Tactile Tours are your chance to get up close and personal with some of the most extraordinary objects on display this Fringe.
Fringe Furniture is the radical-furniture-jewel in the Melbourne Fringe crown, both a celebration of what is possible and of the artisans who thought it so. Ensconced in its home at the Abbotsford Convent, Fringe Furniture is a veritable playground of ideas, an exhibition where design meets possibility meets provocation meets beauty, a chance for artists to think outside the box, re-design the box, turn the box into a hat-stand and then set the hat-stand on fire.
An experienced accessibility guide will provide an audio description and lead you through the exhibition piece-by-piece, so you can touch, smell, hear and taste (don’t taste) these playful creations first hand.
Melbourne Fringe is offering a free shuttle service from Flinders Street Station to the Abbotsford Convent on 19 September. Call 9660 9600 to find out more or to book.
Fringe Furniture takes place across two spaces. The entrance to one space is 850mm wide. All entrances are either level or have a ramp.
