This 40-minute virtual comedy show consists of topical jokes and up-to-date shenanigans featuring He Huang and her guest comedians. Every night is different and in English. The majority of the show is written and performed by He Huang, a stand-up comedian from China. Her in-person shows are cancelled but it does not stop her from sharing her jokes and love during this pandemic.
She came to Melbourne on the last day of 2019 dreaming about her new life in Australia. One started with cute coffee shops, over-priced organic produce and a justice-for-all vibe but quickly plunged into six lockdowns totaling more than 200 days and counting.
She is currently stuck in a high-rise apartment building with all other remaining city dwellers.
She has survived six lockdowns together with her Indian boyfriend from India like two unsung foreign heroes.
She is not married yet is being loved during this pandemic.
The year she landed in Melbourne, she was 30 years old and nowhere close to being a good Chinese daughter to her parents. Now she is still nowhere close to being a good Chinese daughter yet she feels free in Melbourne during a pandemic.
