‘Frankenstein's Telephone’ is a conceptual artwork created using artificial intelligence to examine how computer vision expresses gender classifications. On this site you can view AI Artist J. Rosenbaum's original works exploring gender as seen and created by computers, read about the techniques and algorithms used and have the opportunity to make your own works from a text prompt or an image upload.
Play your own game of "telephone" and share the generated captions with your friends so that they can enter it in to keep the chain going and produce weird and wonderful AI artworks! if you visit the website via mobile you can take and upload photos, if you visit via desktop you can enter a caption, a music lyric, a description and see the different neural networks produce a custom chain reaction in response.
This interactive art project is possible through the generous support of the City of Melbourne Covid 19 Arts Grants.
This project is amplified by Melbourne Fringe through the Ralph Mclean Microgrant program.
