When did someone last tuck YOU into bed?
Who is The Magic Pudding?
And what's so problematic about the Gumnut babies?
If your answer is "I DON'T KNOW" then join Fables & Fairy-Tales for the Quiet Australian on a wide-eyed satirical look at the characters and tales that shaped Australia's children of the past. You select the bedtime story from a collection of classic Australian fantasy writing, 1900 – 1940, then sit back and relax as imagery, music and spoken word are woven together to form a dynamic digital scenescape.
Our final destination? That's ultimately a question of whether we can separate the baby from the bathwater as we experiment in celebrating the significance of each story whilst probing the problematic themes within.
Please note: this event will take place on Zoom.
