The oval-framed central female figure is photographed in a dance pose next to a nature-strip urban tree surrounded by green plants. She has blond hair and is dressed in a blue Middle Eastern-inspired costume holding a blue veil flowing in the breeze to the left of the view. She is dancing against a collaged backdrop painting ablaze with colour and rhythmic abstract-shaped plants and trees.

'Dancing The Tree' is at the Rovay Gallery's October 2023 art exhibition that includes selected Rovay paintings and a short art video titled 'Dancing the Tree' (4.5 mins - looped). Within five window spaces in Middle Park, Victoria, along with many artworks, the short film 'Dancing The Tree' will be screened on a loop from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day of October 2023.

Local nature scenes are deconstructed into elementary components, lines, shapes, and colours, only to be reconstructed, transformed and infused with a new language of expression and a new artistic visual vocabulary. Viewed from the footpath, four more large windows will display artworks that inspired the direction of the short film. The short film was created collaboratively between the different mediums of film, fine art, sound design, and digital editing design. Ablaze with colour and paint, dance becomes a metaphor for an urban strum for an urban dance on the urban nature strip. The film also weaves a narrative around a magic carpet, a theme that has appeared in several ancient texts since the 9th century. The flying magic carpet is employed as a form of transportation that carries its users to their destination. No matter what role the magic carpet plays in the many stories it is in, one thing is noted; this mysterious textile has won over people’s hearts everywhere. Like an impromptu jazz jam session collaboration, we are weaving and threading a new context around the urban environment, visual art and cultural identity.
