A person in a white nightgown eerily hangs from the ceiling above a stack of 6 mattresses with white fitted sheets. Disembodied limbs protrude from the stack: a pair of anxious feet, a limp head of hair and one singular flexed foot. The mass of mattresses and limbs floats on a concrete floor against a brick wall.

“Illness is the night side of life” - Susan Sontag.

Your bed is where you dream, sweat, sleep, cry, make love, hold and are held. With illness, a bed can become an entire universe. A swamp, an island, an embrace.

'Air Hunger’ is a visceral, intimate, and giddy piece of dance theatre, drawing you into the very private world of living in the “night side of life”. At times vulnerable and fragile, at times emotionally explosive and confronting, ‘Air Hunger’ brings experiences that are often hidden into the public realm.
