Journalist and writer Susan Wakefield talks to spoken word poets Kelly Van Nelson and Skylar J Wynter on why poetry is emerging as the perfect tonic for therapeutic healing of the soul.

Susan Wakefield is a distinguished freelance writer, novelist and published poet. She has worked as an editor, ghostwriter, speech writer, political writer and proofreader for international publications including The Boston Globe and The New York Times. She is currently working on her sixth novel, Decency.

Kelly Van Nelson is the #1 bestselling author of Graffiti Lane and Punch and Judy, shining a spotlight on social issues. Her books are frequently gifted to Hollywood celebrities, including Oscars winners. She is a KSP First Edition Fellowship recipient and winner of the AusMumpreneur ‘Big Idea Changing the World’, Roar Success Best Book and Most Powerful Influencer Awards.
Skylar J Wynter is a fledgling author, budding new performance poet, and winner of the KSP Unpublished Author Program. Her debut book, Pieces of Humanity, will be released October 2020, coinciding with Mental Health month. Her literary work paints a picture of the fractured self, combining poetry and prose that tackles cultural madness and the importance of self-love and respect.
