The Melbourne Fringe office has a bit of a reputation – as a caring, safe, energetic, fast-paced workplace that values our people, their mental health and what they have for lunch as key priorities (sandwich or leftovers?) Joining the Melbourne Fringe fam means joining a team of likeminded independent arts lovers. And we want you to shine, so we’ll give you opportunities to grow and learn.
Melbourne Fringe has a deep commitment to cultural equity, and we strongly encourage applications from people who identify as First Nations, Deaf & Disabled, people of colour, transgender and gender-diverse, and women. We work hard to embed equity throughout our organisation, and we strive to create safe and flexible working environments for our team.
We consider reasonable adjustments for qualified applicants with disability. If you have any questions about the accessibility of Melbourne Fringe please get in touch with Carly Findlay, Access Advisor, on (03) 9660 9600 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Want to be a part of Melbourne’s biggest annual celebration of independent arts? We’re currently on the hunt for a bunch of legends to help make our 40th birthday festival one to remember! We need some amazing volunteers to help put a little finesse on our Festival, whether it’s pouring punters a post-show drink, or directing them towards the nearest QR code (you’ve gotta press and hold, Graham!).
The commitment is generally 15-25 hours across the whole festival, and as always there are plenty of perks for being involved. That’s showbiz, baby! In addition to the killer experience of working in a high-energy festival and upping your cultural and artsy know-how, you’ll get plenty of opportunities to see shows for free, an invite to our VIP volunteers and staff party and the sexiest* goddamn T-shirt you’ve ever seen in your life.
*provided you find the Melbourne Fringe logo very sexy
